Classic circular challenge following the border between Austria and Italy over 42km of impressive Dolomite scenery

Each year, the Dolomitenlauf attracts skiers from around the world looking to take part in an exciting event in some of the most beautiful mountains in Europe.
This Worldloppet race offers a fantastic 42km course and the enthusiastic crowd along the track helps make for an unforgettable cross-country skiing experience. We base ourselves in Versciaco di Sopra, just across the border in Italy.
Eric Woolley, a Snowsport England coach/tutor, will help us prepare for the race during the week, taking us on different routes and giving tuition on classic technique. In the evening, the hospitality of our family-run hotel awaits us, along with delicious food and a relaxing spa. A shorter race of 25km is also available for those who are looking for something not quite so challenging.
What makes this trip responsible?
Our base for the week is Hotel Helm, situated on the edge of the small village Versciaco di Sopra close to the Austrian border. The hotel has been run by the Patzleiner family for a few generations and has retained a wonderful family atmosphere to this day. All food is sourced locally for the traditional Tyrolean cuisine served each evening and the family is very involved in recycling all they can. Public buses stop directly outside the hotel so groups can easily access the start of cross-country skiing trails. All our leaders are committed to Responsible Tourism and have received training and get additional refresher training on a regular basis so they can help you reduce you impact and maximise the benefits to the local communities from your visit.
