Itinerary
Day 1
Start Kvitavatn.
Day 2 - 5
We prefer not to specify in advance where we will walk each day. This is to enhance the flexibility and adapt to weather conditions, and to some extent the ability of each group. When choosing walks, the leader's priority will be to take in a full variety of scenery and of course to spend as much time as possible in the snow! A few possibilities are listed below.
The myriad of routes and trails starts from our door, and, clipped firmly into our snowshoes we have the perfect vehicle to experience the best of the unmistakable Norwegian landscape.
The rolling terrain of woods and hilltops to the north of the lodge offer varied snowshoeing and excellent views of the Hardangervidda National Park, northern Europe's largest mountain plateaux, and Lake Tinnsjo, one of the largest lakes in Norway.
To the east we can stride out over the Ornenipa Plateau, and drop down the other side into the Andordalen area, or even reache the summit of Ornenipa itself. To the south of the lodge possibilities include crossing Djupetjonn lake, exploring the Heddersfjell pleateau or heading for the summit of Toreskyrkja at 1364m.
Day 6
Free day for unguided cross-country skiing, snowshoeing or downhill skiing (all optional).
Day 7
Final snowshoe walk; our most challenging of the week.
Day 8
End Kvitavatn.
