Arctic Circle Dogsled Expedition

Day 1
Fly from Heathrow to Kiruna via Stockholm. Transfer to Mushers Lodge.

Day 2
In the morning a short trip to make sure dog teams are well balanced (approx distance 30-35 km). Then we begin the expedition sledding across the wild and beautiful expanses of frozen lakes towards the lodge at Jakalajarvi. Wilderness lodge.

Day 3
Mush through a mixture of forest trails and frozen lakes with stunning views en route above and beyond the snow-covered peaks and trees. On route we pass through the Sami village of Ovre Soppero on the Lainio River (approx distance 35-55 km). Cabin accommodation.

Day 4
Break camp and mush across remote mountain tundra towards a small Sami settlement called Jarama (approx distance 55-65 km). Simple reindeer herders cabin.

Day 5
Dogsled to Lavvocamp Travel south-east towards Ovre Soppero and stay in a Lapic tent (approx 50 km). Please note that as the Sami people follow the migrational patterns of the reindeer herds, this route may vary slightly. A route adjustment may also occur in extreme weather conditions.

Day 6
The longest day, following the 'Tobacco Trail' south and west to Jukkasjarvi. Short visit to the Icehotel if time allows, before we continue to Kaupinnen (approx distance 70 km). Mushers Lodge

Fly from Kiruna to Heathrow via Stockholm.
