Arctic Circle Dogsled Expedition

Day 1
Start Kaupinnen. Transfer to Mushers Lodge.

Day 2
In the morning a short trip to make sure dog teams are well balanced (approx distance 30-35 km). Then we begin the expedition sledding across the wild and beautiful expanses of frozen lakes towards the lodge at Jakalajarvi.

Day 3
Mush through a mixture of forest trails and frozen lakes with stunning views en route above and beyond the snow-covered peaks and trees. On the way we pass through the Sami village of Ovre Soppero on the Lainio River (approx distance 35-55 km).

Day 4
Break camp and mush across remote mountain tundra towards a small Sami settlement called Jarama (approx distance 55-65 km).

Day 5
Dogsled to Lavvocamp Travel south-east towards Ovre Soppero and stay in a Lapic tent. Please note that as the Sami people follow the migrational patterns of the reindeer herds, this route may vary slightly. A route adjustment may also occur in extreme weather conditions.

Day 6
The longest day, following the 'Tobacco Trail' south and west to Jukkasjarvi. Short visit to the Icehotel if time allows, before we continue to Kaupinnen (approx distance 70 km).

Day 7
End Kaupinnen.
