  • CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING: SEEFELD SKATING

A great holiday combining the satisfaction of covering worthwhile distances at a brisk pace with the improvement of ones technique, all with good company and plenty of humour.  Seefeld is an ideal resort with an abundance of skating tracks within easy reach and with a delightfully short transfer from Innsbruck Airport

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

Getting the ski skating technique sufficiently good to be able to go faster and with less effort than for classic style skiing.

What did you think of your group leader?
Eric is a great leader. He is never short of ideas for giving clients a good skiing day whatever the weather and whatever the abilities of the group. His coaching can improve the ability of skiers at all levels. He also injects a lot of humour and fun into the holiday.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

You need to be fit in order to enjoy ski skating at its best. As long as you are fit then it is great fun.

Is there anything else you would like to add?
Ski skating is really good exercise for the body and for the mind.  You can always work on improving your technique, even on gentle downhill stretches where on classic skis you can simply run in the grooves or on flat stretches which can otherwise get a bit tedious. A bonus of acquiring the skill to ski skate is that it improves your classic skiing by training you to commit all your weight and balance onto one ski.
