Impressive cross-country skiing in the Triglav National Park, Slovenia
From the borders of Italy and Austria the spectacular peaks of the Julian Alps flow deep into Slovenia. The majority of the area falls within the protection of the Triglav National Park, named after Slovenia's highest peak, Mount Triglav (2864m). Similar in appearance to the Dolomites, these dramatic limestone peaks are dotted with half-timbered villages where we can see the traditional way of life. On this unique holiday we explore the endless cross-country trails in the Triglav National Park, accompanied by qualified local guides. With over 400km of prepared trails for all levels, we ski amid peaceful spruce forests with stunning views towards the Julian Alps and the Triglav massif. Routes begin outside our pension, following alongside the Sava Bohinjska river and on the Pokljuka plateau (1300m). We stay just outside the renowned lakeside town of Bled in Selo pri Bledu, in a beautiful position on the edge of the National Park.
