CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING: VARENA

Val di Fiemme, arguably one of the most beautiful valleys in the western Dolomites, is also home to many world class nordic ski competitions including the famous Marcialonga race. With a variety of high-altitude loipes, some offering breathtaking views across Latemar and Rosengarten mountains, it is no wonder that many return to this area every year. Based in the peaceful village of Varena (1180m), situated above the winter resort of Cavalese, we enjoy traditional Italian cuisine along with easy access to some excellent skiing on the Lavaze plateau. This superb location allows us to explore both the Fiemme and Fassa valleys, where the Passo Rolle (1980m) links the well-known resorts of Canazei and Moena. Several of the loipe are prepared for skating as well as classic techniques and our guided routes here combine both techniques.
