- Expert instruction
- Great off-track skiing
- Ideal for all ability levels

Kvitavatn lies at nearly 1000m above the town of Rjukan, boasting superb views of Gausta (1883m), the highest mountain in southern Norway. To the north stretches the vast plateau of the Hardangervidda.
There are endless skiing possibilities from the door, with 80km of varied tracks through forests, across the lake and open country, as well as a good selection of downhill runs. The off-track touring is excellent and takes us above the tree line, with a vast expanse of wilderness to explore and the summit of Ornenipa to be reached at around 1,300m.
The quality and variety of instruction makes this an ideal venue for beginners as well as intermediates. Advanced skiers fine-tuning their technique will enjoy the opportunity for higher level ski tours. Stretching sessions are offered after skiing each day and most evenings we arrange presentations covering topics including skiing, ski waxing and safety in the mountains.

The 'Waymark Experience' stamp points to our range of classic cross-country ski holidays that come from the Waymark stable, but are now operated by Exodus. Loyal Waymark clients will notice many tried and tested locations which are staffed by many of their favourite Waymark leaders.

What makes this trip responsible?
Tourism can be a real help to local communities, providing income, positive cultural exchanges and a financial incentive to protect their natural environment.
Ours is a 'total approach' to responsible tourism, covering everything from the way we plan and operate our trips to the practices of Exodus as a company. Exodus trips are designed to allow a high degree of economic benefit to the local communities; we buy local produce, eat local food and use local services, thus ensuring that as much money as possible is retained within the local economies and the host communities. With our responsible tourism policy we are continually reassessing our holidays, trying at all times to ensure that they are socially, economically and environmentally sound.
Responsible tourism and cross-country skiing
Our cross-country skiing holidays in general avoid large alpine ski areas, and are less dependent on snow cannons, graded pistes and ski lifts, creating significantly less environmental impact than alpine skiing holidays. Journeys further afield aim to utilise public transport and the local economy benefits from our groups purchasing lunches and supplies directly.
