- Professional ski tuition
- Improve your skills in classic and skate
- Comfortable family-run hotel
If you enjoy cross-country skiing but would like to develop your skills and improve your technique in classic and skating, this is the holiday for you.
Tuition is given in both styles by Eric Woolley, a Snowsport England Coach/Tutor. Located in the Alta Pusteria, Versciaco is ideal for cross-country skiers of all abilities, with access to loipes directly from our hotel and easy transport to other great tracks around Sesto, San Candido or Dobbiaco.
The week is focused on improving your technique in both classic and skate skiing, giving you the opportunity to discover which one you prefer and which will have you coasting along the tracks in style.
Every day consists of a mix of instruction and touring on some of the 200km of cross-country trails in the scenic valleys of the Sextner Dolomites. In the evening, the hospitality of our family run hotel awaits us, along with great local food and a relaxing spa.
What makes this trip responsible?
Our base for the week is Hotel Helm, situated on the edge of the small village Versciaco di Sopra close to the Austrian border. The hotel has been run by the Patzleiner family for a few generations and has retained a wonderful family atmosphere to this day. All food is sourced locally for the traditional Tirolean cuisine served each evening and the family is very involved in recycling all they can. Public buses stop directly outside the hotel so groups can easily access the start of cross-country skiing trails. All our leaders are committed to Responsible Tourism and have received training and get additional refresher training on a regular basis so they can help you reduce you impact and maximise the benefits to the local communities from your visit.
