Extensive network of loipe Charming Tyrolean scenery No single room supplement
Just south of historic Innsbruck, our base is the authentic Tyrolean village of Trins, set at 1233m. This quaint village allows access to a large variety of skiing areas in the surrounding valleys. To the west, two beautiful valleys, Gschnitztal and Obernbergtal, extend to the great peaks and glaciers of the Stubai Alps.
A third valley, Schmirntal, rises east into the Zillertal Alps. On this holiday we have the opportunity to ski in all three, exploring meadows, woods, quiet villages and working farms. A fourth skiing location is available at Mariawaldrast (1700m), a unique mountain location which combines high-altitude skiing and a former mediaeval Servite monastery, with a welcoming café where you may well be served by the last remaining monk.
Each of these regions offers spectacular scenery in peaceful locations, and after a hard day's skiing we can relax in the hotel bar for afternoon tea and fresh cakes.
The 'Waymark Experience' stamp points to our range of classic cross-country ski holidays that come from the Waymark stable, but are now operated by Exodus. Loyal Waymark clients will notice many tried and tested locations which are staffed by many of their favourite Waymark leaders.
What makes this trip responsible?
Our hotel for this trip is the family run Hotel Wienerhof, which is part of the Tiroler Wirthaus (an association of traditional Tyrolean restaurants) and offers fantastic Tyrolean cuisine prepared with fresh local products. It has also received the AMA Seal of Approval: an Austrian system of traceability of agricultural products, guaranteeing higher quality goods.
As part of our commitment to Responsible Tourism and in an effort to keep reducing our carbon footprint, we have chosen to use public transport as much as possible throughout this itinerary.
All our leaders are committed to Responsible Tourism and have received training and get additional refresher training on a regular basis so they can help you reduce your impact and maximise the benefits to the local communities from your visit.
