Superb cross-country skiing for intermediates and advanced skiers at one of Finland's finest areas
Deep in Finnish Lapland, the village of Akaslompolo lies at 220m altitude and is 200km north of the Arctic Circle. It is a captivating place, and many skiers return year after year, drawn by the combination of excellent skiing and comfortable accommodation. At night you have the chance to see the Northern Lights whilst during the day there's almost 300km of well-designed tracks to choose from. Some tracks are fairly flat and it is possible to ski long easy circuits from our hotel. Other loipe climb over the area's 'seven fells', rounded hills reaching 700m. From their summits we can look east towards Russia or west to the border with Sweden.
