Itinerary
Day 1
Fly to Geneva; transfer toArgentiere (approx. 2 hrs)
Day 2 - 7
The local region the 'Haute Savoie' boasts more than 16 cross-country ski areas. Rather than deciding in advance where to ski we prefer to tailor-make our visits according to weather, snow conditions and the needs of the individual group. Praz de Lys and the Plateaux de Beauregard both lying on 1,500 metre high plateaux are among the favourites along with Les Contamines and Agy. One of the highlights of the week will be a day out in Italy to ski the 1,600 metre high Ferret Valley, also much appreciated in summer by our walking groups with its dramatic views of the Southern face of Mont Blanc. Not to forget our base, the Chamonix Valley which hosted the first ever Winter Olympics in 1924. Here the north face of Mont Blanc provides unrivalled views and Chamonix's extensive snow making assures some excellent cross-country conditions throughout the winter.
For our free day we have complimentary travel on the local trains and buses making it easy to explore Chamonix's bustling town centre and perhaps cross-country or downhill ski in the local areas. Alternatively, you can take a ride on one of the highest cable cars in the world with spectacular views of Mont Blanc.
Day 8
Transfer back to Geneva. Fly from Geneva to London.
