- Germany's premier cross-country skiing location
- Beautiful scenery in the Ammergau Valley
- Charming family-run guesthouse

In the beautiful Bavarian mountains, not far from the famous resort of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, lies the small town of Oberammergau.
Known for its production of a Passion Play every 10 years since 1634, Oberammergau is also one of the best cross-country skiing destinations in Germany.
Over 100km of cross-country skiing tracks wind through the Ammergau Valley, offering skiers of all levels many varied circuits to practice on. Each day, our leader will take us on different routes, helping us to improve our classic technique.
Our home for the week is the Gasthof zur Rose, located in the heart of the town, yet offering quick and easy access to the loipe system just 5 minutes away.
After skiing over quiet trails perfecting our technique, we return each evening to the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere of this family-run guesthouse, where we enjoy some delicous Bavarian food.
What makes this trip responsible?
As part of our commitment to Responsible Tourism and in an effort to keep reducing our carbon footprint, we have chosen to be based in a particular location so there is no need for transport throughout the week. Our base for the week has been run by a local family for several generations. The chef (and owner of the hotel) tries to prepare his fantastic traditional Bavarian dishes with fresh local products.
