Glaciers, lava tubes and nature's spectacular light show

The ephemeral Northern Lights or 'Aurora Borealis' have fascinated those lucky enough to see them for centuries.
Folklore and legend has grown up around these dancing lights, and they are a deeply ingrained part of Icelandic culture. In a land dominated by thunderous waterfalls, volcanic landscapes and thermal energy there is a wonderful opportunity to experience this phenomena framed by unforgettable landscape. During this trip we offer visits to some of the most impressive sites in the south of the island, including the Glacial Lagoon, the Vatnajokull N.P and a number of mighty waterfalls.
Underpinning the experience will be our efforts to seek out the world's best natural light show. Weather and conditions will of course play a big part in our success but we have further maximised our chances by choosing dates that fall between full moons.
What makes this trip responsible?
We use a locally based operator and have established a long-term partnership, assisting with local staff training in all aspects of their jobs, thereby investing in the people to help improve their knowledge and future prospects.
