South African campsites are generally very good and all have flushing toilets, showers, lighting at night and fencing from wildlife (except Mkuze - but there are no lions here). All camping equipment is provided (except sleeping bag/pillow) and tents have built-in insect nets.

This tour is operated in partnership with our sister company The Adventure Company (TAC), as such the group may be a mixture of Exodus and TAC clients. This trip is booked through Exodus and you will receive the same award winning customer service that you are used to. TAC operate with the same core principles used by Exodus and champion the benefits of small group travel. Ideal for families with older children who want to get a taste of a true African safari. This tour is well balanced, with game drives in a number of different parks and reserves (where you will encounter different habitats and wildlife), cultural visits to a Johannesburg township and a Zulu village, and a range of activities including snorkelling, kayaking and walking. There is one free day where you can relax or choose form additional activities. We stay in a range of accommodation during the tour, including six nights camping. Anyone in good health with a sense of adventure should be able to take part. The white water rafting is optional. Please note that if you are aged 65 or over a doctor's certificate is required.
