Reality Check

This is an exciting trip suitable for any adventurous family wanting to experience some of the best that East Africa has to offer.

There is minimal time-difference between Tanzania and the UK and the accommodation used is of a good standard. You should, however, note that there are some long days on this tour.

Days spent in the parks are long to maximise game viewing opportunities.

There is also a risk of Malaria in Tanzania. The Kilimanjaro daywalk is not very strenuous and should be fine for any family who do some hill-walking back home.

Normal group size and age

Normally 4 to. 15, plus guide and driver(s). Minimum age 5.

Family Groups Going on a Family Group trip is a fantastic way to meet new friends and create lasting friendships – for parents and children alike! These holidays combine exploration with sociability and fun, as other families will join you. Minimum ages vary across the trip range, but is usually from 5 years old.

Teenage Departures available Our Family Group holidays usually cater for children from 5 years old. However, experience tells us that children tend to prefer mixing with their own age groups, especially teenagers. That’s why we’ve designated certain departures on our group trips as particularly recommended for teenagers. Whilst we don't restrict younger kids from joining these holidays, the 'recommended for teenagers' departures means there are likely to be other teenagers to share the experience with.

Walking & Trekking Walking & Trekking: Trips are wholly trekking-focused or simply include a significant number of walking days during the itinerary.

Wildlife Wildlife: Trips may be wholly wildlife focused, or contain an element of wildlife viewing within a less specific itinerary.

Culture Culture: Let Exodus show you a different side to many of the world's greatest cultural attractions.
