The mountains of the Picos de Europa - Spain's first National Park - offer some of the finest, most dramatic mountain scenery in the country, with lush valleys, deep rocky gorges, and fascinating cave systems.
Add in the proximity of the stunning Cantabrian Coast, and this area provides the perfect location for a family-orientated activity holiday.
Once again, we have teamed up with long-time Exodus partner, and local activity guru, Jim Thomson and his wife Pilar.
Booking your activities:
All the activities are optional. When you book, please specify the numbers of days you want activities using the table of codes and prices in the brochure.
On some days, there is a choice of options available for different ages.
On arrival in Arenas you will be asked to specify which activities you want to take part in.
Children must be accompanied by at least one adult on each activity.
What makes this trip responsible?
The hotel we stay in is very conscious of its environmental impact and does a number of things to minimise this. Where it can it uses solar power to heat water; the owners grow some of their own vegetables and you will be able to sample these at dinner; and, there is a recycling policy throughout the hotel. The hotel also strives to buy the majority of its produce from local suppliers and employ staff from the local area.

- Fly to Bilbao, transfer to Arenas.
- Crawl and climb through the stalagmites and stalagtites of the local caves or try horse riding in the foothills of the Picos.
- Easy rock-climbing or orientation walk.
- Self-guided hike up and down the dramatic Cares Gorge.
- Canyoning into deep pools and water slides or visit Ribadesella beach and museum.
- Self-guided biking.
- A day of canoeing down the river Sella or quad-biking.
- Fly to London.
