This holiday is designed so that you can see the best parts of China using a mixture of private buses, trains and flights. There is a lot to see in the time you are there, but it is paced so that it doesn't feel too rushed.
Travel time is kept to a minimum although there are a few longer drives and some long days, but there is plenty of time for sightseeing and the trip has numerous stops where we spend 2 or more nights.
Whilst choosing this trip please note that some of the accommodation will be basic but is clean and tidy, and swimming pools may not be up to western standards.
It is possible to opt out of the day walk on the Wall from Jinshanling to Simatai should any member of the family not feel up to the trek.
Locals and other Asian tourists may want to take photos of themselves with your children particularly if they are young, blond and have blue eyes, you should be prepared for them to do this without asking permission first.
Normal group size and age
Normally 6 to 20, plus leader and appropriate local guides. Minimum age 5.

Going on a Family Group trip is a fantastic way to meet new friends and create lasting friendships – for parents and children alike! These holidays combine exploration with sociability and fun, as other families will join you. Minimum ages vary across the trip range, but is usually from 5 years old.
Our Family Group holidays usually cater for children from 5 years old. However, experience tells us that children tend to prefer mixing with their own age groups, especially teenagers. That’s why we’ve designated certain departures on our group trips as particularly recommended for teenagers. Whilst we don't restrict younger kids from joining these holidays, the 'recommended for teenagers' departures means there are likely to be other teenagers to share the experience with.
