Kids having group hug with baby elephant, Kerala

We begin this adventure exploring the narrow streets of Cochin. The city was once an old fishing port and nowadays boats can still be seen sailing past huge Chinese fishing nets. We then visit a nearby elephant training centre before heading off to beautifully-located Munnar where we trek amongst the hills for breathtaking panoramic views. From India's most elaborately decorated temple complex at Madurai we then visit Periyar National Park, home to an abundance of colourful birdlife and an array of wildlife. We explore this area on foot and spend a night camping in the lush surroundings. For many the highlight is the overnight trip on board a traditional houseboat along the backwaters of Kerala, followed by the chance to relax on one of Kerala's tropical beaches.
