Reality Check
This trip is a mixture of sightseeing and walking with a fairly gentle 3- day trek, which takes in the best of the contrasting scenery this part of the Himalaya has to offer; lofty snow-clad peaks, the wild and barren hillsides of this high altitude desert and the pretty green villages in the valley which spring to life in the summer when the crops are grown after the long, harsh winter.
The trails are generally well made and we walk for 3-4 hours each day with frequent stops. We have allowed 3 nights in Leh before the trek to allow for acclimatisation. The trip should be within the capabilities of fit and active families with children of 8 years and over.
On the rafting day our guides will give you full instruction in all aspects of rafting and river safety. Life jackets and helmets are provided.
For the cycling day trip we provide local bikes and helmets can be hired. Both these activities are optional but are included in the cost of the trip.
Normal group size and age
Normally 6 to 16 plus leader and support staff. Minimum age 8.
