Sri Lanka has an amazing array of mesmerizing sites to visit. From the ancient cave temples of Dambulla to the extensive remains of the old capital at Polonnaruwa and the world famous Temple of the Tooth, there is something to fascinate everyone in the family. We climb to the top of the Lions Rock Fortress in Sigiriya, take an elephant ride through the jungle and visit the elephant centre at Udawalawe; later we see them in the wild at Yala National Park. After our visit to the tea plantations in the cool highlands we head to stunning beaches lined with coconut palms for some relaxation the perfect end to a varied and fun holiday.

Day 1 Depart London.
Day 2 Arrive Colombo; transfer to beach hotel at Negombo.
Day 3 Drive to Sigiriya, site of the Lions Rock Fortress; relax by pool.

4 - 5
Based at Sigiriya we explore or climb the fortress, cycle through local villages, take an elephant ride through the jungle and there's time for an optional visit to the ancient capital of Polonnaruwa.
Day 6 Visit the famous paintings and statues in the Buddhist cave temples at Dambulla; explore a spice garden; drive to the hill capital of Kandy.
Day 7 Visit the gem museum,Royal Botanical Gardens and see the Temple of the Tooth.
Day 8 Visit a tea plantation in Nurawa Eliya and stay in the cool and beautiful highlands.
Day 9 Visit Udawalawe Elephant Centre, a refuge for baby elephants; drive to Yala National Park.
Day
10 - 12
Morning game drive in Yala folowed by 3 nights at a tropical beach to relax, swim or explore the area.
Day 13 Visit the old Dutch Fort at Galle on the way to Colombo.
Day 14 Fly to London.
