This is an active itinerary suited to an older family who want a gentle introduction to walking in the High Atlas. It's only a short drive from Marrakech into the mountains, yet we become truly immersed in Morocco's rural culture. We spend four days enjoying the varied scenery and the kind hospitality of the Berber villagers. Our walks take us through cultivated terraced fields with the jagged mountains of the High Atlas rising into the distance. This trek provides a wonderful opportunity to spend time with, and learn about, rural Berber communities as we spend each night in a village house. After the peace and quiet of the mountains we head back to Marrakech to experience another aspect of this incredibly diverse country.
| Day 1 | Fly to Marrakech. |
| Day 2 | Transfer to Tachbibt where we enjoy an afternoon walk to the village of Ait Zitoun. |
| Day 3 | Full day trekking through pine forests and along the river bank to the village of Ait Ahmed. Some easy climbs. |
| Day 4 | A trek through some of the most traditional villages in the valley, including a visit to a water mill in the village of Imi'n'Tala. |
| Day 5 | A morning trek through charming villages, descending towards the valley of Ardaz. Return to Marrakech after lunch. |
| Day 6 | Morning guided tour of Marrakech with the afternoon free for private exploration. |
| Day 7 | Free day in Marrakech to explore the bazaars, relax in the Majorelle gardens or take a caleche ride round the city walls. |
| Day 8 | Fly to London. |
