Reality Check
This is an active trip and has specifically been designed with teenagers in mind and a good level of fitness is required as we climb Mount Sinai, spend a day snorkelling, go quad biking and travel into the desert. The Sinai trek reaches 2285m and takes around 3-4 hours - you need to be prepared with good walking shoes and suitable clothing.
There are two long drives between Cairo and the Sinai, though these are limited to day 3 and 7. Stops will be made en route.
Egypt can get hot, especially in the summer months. You need to be prepared and stay hydrated. Bottled drinking water is readily available in all hotels and during many excursions. You should also be prepared with warm jumpers as temperatures drop quite significantly in the desert at night.
Ramadan Please note that the Muslim month of Ramadan will take place from 01 August to 30 August 2011 (dates can shift slightly). This is a time when followers of Islam do not eat or drink between sunrise and sunset. This can sometimes affect the opening hours of certain tourist sites. However we will ensure that that the itinerary is affected as little as possible if you travel during this period. Food and drink is available to tourists during the day.
