Reality Check
This trip has been graded as grade A (leisurely).
Leisurely grade trips are suitable for all clients with average health and fitness. No experience of any activity involved is necessary.
Egypt can get hot, especially during our summer, which can cause discomfort whilst travelling. Care should be taken to drink a lot of bottled water. The hottest months tend to be June to September. Temperatures can reach 38 - 40 degrees in Southern Egypt.
The hotels that we use on this trip are of a high standard, with all hotels allowing access to pools.
The train journey used is an overnight sleeper train. The facilities used are good by Egyptian standards - there are wash facilities in the 2 berth cabins and toilets at the end of each carriage. This being said, the standard of the train is not up to those experienced on the Swiss Rail Network and you should come with this in mind!
Ramadan Please note that the Muslim month of Ramadan will take place from 01 August to 30 August 2011 (dates can shift slightly). This is a time when followers of Islam do not eat or drink between sunrise and sunset. This can sometimes affect the opening hours of certain tourist sites. However we will ensure that that the itinerary is affected as little as possible if you travel during this period. Food and drink is available to tourists during the day.
Normal group size and age
Normally 5 to 20 plus guide (Egyptologist) and driver/boat crew as required. Minimum age 5.

Going on a Family Group trip is a fantastic way to meet new friends and create lasting friendships – for parents and children alike! These holidays combine exploration with sociability and fun, as other families will join you. Minimum ages vary across the trip range, but is usually from 5 years old.
Our Family Group holidays usually cater for children from 5 years old. However, experience tells us that children tend to prefer mixing with their own age groups, especially teenagers. That’s why we’ve designated certain departures on our group trips as particularly recommended for teenagers. Whilst we don't restrict younger kids from joining these holidays, the 'recommended for teenagers' departures means there are likely to be other teenagers to share the experience with.
Culture: Let Exodus show you a different side to many of the world's greatest cultural attractions.
All Exodus trips are active but some may have different activities scheduled every day. Activities we offer include kayaking in Slovakia, trekking in the Drakensberg, cycling in the Tuscan countryside or canoeing along the Zambezi River.
