Get a real flavour for the sights and sounds of exotic Egypt on this week-long trip. Marvel at the size of the Pyramids and the serene Sphinx. The kids will love the Egyptian Museum, home to weird and wonderful artefacts and incredible treasures from the Tutankhamun Collection, and the perfect location for a treasure hunt.
We leave the bustle of Cairo and head down to Luxor by train to explore the ancient tombs of the pharaohs in the Valley of the Kings. By horse-drawn carriage we explore the avenue of ram-headed sphinxes and historic temples, where we'll decipher the hieroglyphs with the help of our knowledgeable guides.
A relaxing end to the trip awaits us as we cross the desert and head to the Red Sea's fish-filled waters.
What makes this trip responsible?
The entrance fees to the sights we visit on this tour contribute directly toward their upkeep, whilst our expert local guides invest all of their knowledge and experience into explaining the cultural significance of the archaeological wonders that we visit. There will be opportunities for shopping and buying local crafts from bazaars, and we encourage visitors to dine in local restaurants to ensure that our visit contributes to the local communities and economy. We also use public transport, in part, as we travel to Luxor by overnight train.
