Reality Check
There are a few things that we advise you take into consideration before booking onto this trip.
The night in the Wadi Rum will be spent in a private camp with a fixed and chemical toilet and a shower. Mattresses, blankets, pillows and towels are all provided. Although quite basic, a night in the desert is exciting and memorable and should be approached with a sense of adventure. The food in Jordan can be a little spicy and uses flavours that children may not be used to.
Please bear this in mind when ordering in restaurants. It is possible to find food that avoids this but the meals may be monotonous.
Some of the days on this trip can be long, especially the drive from Madaba to Petra. The leader will try and break the drive up as much as possible.
It can be hot in Jordan, please ensure that your children are well protected from the sun.
During the winter months warm clothes will be needed. We strongly recommend that you read the information on pages 6 and 86-89 of the Families brochure before booking this holiday. Alternatively go to www.exodus.co.uk/families/are-you-family

Going on a Family Group trip is a fantastic way to meet new friends and create lasting friendships – for parents and children alike! These holidays combine exploration with sociability and fun, as other families will join you. Minimum ages vary across the trip range, but is usually from 5 years old.
Our Family Group holidays usually cater for children from 5 years old. However, experience tells us that children tend to prefer mixing with their own age groups, especially teenagers. That’s why we’ve designated certain departures on our group trips as particularly recommended for teenagers. Whilst we don't restrict younger kids from joining these holidays, the 'recommended for teenagers' departures means there are likely to be other teenagers to share the experience with.
Mixed Activities: Activities may range from the ordinary (for example walking, cycling or whitewater rafting) to the damn right extraordinary (including caving, camel riding or canyoning).
Wilderness: Visit the deserts, jungles, plateaux, tundra and mountains of all seven continents, including Antarctica.
Culture: Let Exodus show you a different side to many of the world's greatest cultural attractions.
All Exodus trips are active but some may have different activities scheduled every day. Activities we offer include kayaking in Slovakia, trekking in the Drakensberg, cycling in the Tuscan countryside or canoeing along the Zambezi River.
