Reality Check
We would like you to consider the following when booking this trip.
It can be hot in Jordan and Egypt, so please ensure that you and your children are well protected from the sun. The hottest months are July and August so please consider if you would prefer to travel outside this time.
The night spent at Wadi Rum will involve a very basic night camping, with few facilities. It is often cited as a highlight of the trip but please approach this with a sense of adventure! The food in Jordan can be a little spicy and uses flavours that children may not necessarily be used to. Please bear this in mind when ordering in restaurants. It is possible to find food that avoids this but the meals may be monotonous.
The drive on day 12 from the Sinai to Cairo can be long and there are limited places to stop en route. The ferry between Jordan and Egypt has also been known to experience delays. Mt Nebo: please note that the trip will still visit the site, but you will not be able to go inside the church itself due to restoration. The work was due to finish in early 2009 but has been delayed.
Ramadan Please note that the Muslim month of Ramadan will take place from 01st August to 30th August 2011 (dates can shift slightly). This is a time when followers of Islam do not eat or drink between sunrise and sunset. This can sometimes affect the opening hours of certain tourist sites. However we will ensure that that the itinerary is affected as little as possible if you travel during this period. Food and drink is available to tourists during the day.
Normal group size and age
Normally 9 to 18 plus leader and driver(s). Minimum age 5.

Going on a Family Group trip is a fantastic way to meet new friends and create lasting friendships – for parents and children alike! These holidays combine exploration with sociability and fun, as other families will join you. Minimum ages vary across the trip range, but is usually from 5 years old.
Our Family Group holidays usually cater for children from 5 years old. However, experience tells us that children tend to prefer mixing with their own age groups, especially teenagers. That’s why we’ve designated certain departures on our group trips as particularly recommended for teenagers. Whilst we don't restrict younger kids from joining these holidays, the 'recommended for teenagers' departures means there are likely to be other teenagers to share the experience with.
Culture: Let Exodus show you a different side to many of the world's greatest cultural attractions.
All Exodus trips are active but some may have different activities scheduled every day. Activities we offer include kayaking in Slovakia, trekking in the Drakensberg, cycling in the Tuscan countryside or canoeing along the Zambezi River.
