Reality Check
This trip provides a wonderful opportunity to see everything Morocco has to offer but at a steady pace with time to relax and enjoy the many highlights of this wonderful country.
In the mountains we experience the peaceful tranquillity and age old customs of rural mountain life compared with the vibrant and active Marrakech.
Essaouira is also an exciting musical city to visit and has some of the best seafood to be found in Morocco.
There are optional walks offered throughout the trip, which will be chosen depending on the age and ability of the group. For toddler departures, day walks are shorter and more gentle than standard weeks so the whole family can enjoy the wonderful Atlas Mountain scenery. Journey time is kept to a minimum over the week and the longest is 4 hours on day 4 (from the mountains to the coast).
Although accommodation standards are below those of Europe and more comparable to sub-Saharan Africa, we stay in comfortable hotels that offer all amenities (Marrakech hotel has a swimming pool). Morocco generally enjoys a good year round climate (sun-soaked in the summer and reasonably warm in the winter).
Mountain accommodation is communal and quite basic but with a friendly welcome, hot showers and even a Hamman (steam bath). We stay in characterful riad accommodation in Essaouira to complete our Moroccan experience.
Please note that child booster seats are not required by local law, however our vehicles are equipped with seatbelts to allow you to fit your own seat. Hotels used will have cots available for your toddlers, please request with Exodus before departure.
Normal group size and age
Normally 4 to 16, plus leader and driver(s). Minimum age 2.
Misc
Watch out for our specially designed toddler departures. These are suitable for kids aged 3 and upwards.
On these departures, daywalks are shorter and more gentle than standard weeks so your toddlers can also enjoy Morocco's magical kingdom.
