Kids on the Inca Trail

Follow in the footsteps of the ancient Inca Empire as you trek the famous Inca Trail. Explore ancient ruins and walk through cloudforests before arriving at the mysterious citadel of Machu Picchu. Cycle past the Inca site of Moray, the salt pans at Maras and descend into the Sacred Valley at the ruins of Ollantaytambo.

Negotiate the whitewater rapids of the Urubamba River as we pass magnificent steep-sided canyons. Stay with a local family to experience local culture and hospitality first hand. There's also time to explore the ancient capital of Cuzco, a city steeped in history and atmosphere and situated beneath the huge rock walls of Sacsayhuaman.

Please note: This trip has had a name change for 2013 season, the trip was formerly called: Incas & The Amazon

Responsible TravelWhat makes this trip responsible?

For every person who travels on this trip, GBP5 is donated to Project Peru. Project Peru is a small, lively, totally voluntary UK-based charity offering food, clothes, shelter, education and fun to the children who live in their refuge in the desert shanty towns of Lima, Peru, where nearly half the population exists on less than a dollar a day. Not only do they provide a positive and safe environment for children, and ongoing help to their marginalised and often dysfunctional families, but also give paid employment, dignity and independence to their staff, all Peruvians. Their community and social initiatives offer practical and desperately needed support to those living in extreme poverty both locally in the neighbouring shanty towns and in the high Andes.
