Costa Rica is a natural paradise complete with jungles, volcanoes, spectacular beaches and wildlife - the perfect destination for a family holiday.
Fun and varied adventures are the order of the day, including a walk to the summit of an active volcano and a boat trip through the inland waterways of Tortuguero surrounded by noisy Howler Monkeys and colourful birds.
There are also great opportunities to interact with the local people, as we visit villages and handicraft markets as well as a rural school to meet the kids. Monteverde's forest reserves are world-famous and are the perfect place to walk in the clouds or take an exhilarating canopy zip-line tour.
After an action-packed educational holiday, we head to the pacific coast for two days of pure relaxation.

What makes this trip responsible?
With its abundant natural diversity, Costa Rica has a world-renowned tradition of conservation. On this trip we visit national and private parks, including the Santa Elena Cloud Forest Reserve, one of the first community-managed reserves in the country. Entrance fees directly support conservation efforts in the areas we visit. We also visit a typical rural school to meet the children.
Our local operator is a leading member of the Rainforest Alliance and has been awarded a "4 Leaf" award from the Costa Rican Tourism Institute for their sustainable tourism practice & dedication to improving standards. The majority of accommodation that we use is in family-owned lodges, providing employment for the local community.
