Let folklore and tales of legend come to life as your Navajo guide unveils the intricacies of Monument Valley. Granite peaks sparkle above evergreen forests in Yosemite Valley, swift rivers carve winding canyons in Zion, and the earth opens up before you at the breathtaking Grand Canyon. Inviting sandstone coves punctuate Lake Powell's shoreline (stretching further than the western coast of the USA), whilst watersports invigorate its surface. After all the action and adventure amid America's movie landscapes, the vibrant cities of Las Vegas and San Francisco should be the icing on the cake.

What makes this trip responsible?

We stick to marked trails to reduce our impact on the local environment and we camp in the designated grounds regulated by each National Park. Throughout the trip we employ a 'leave no trace' policy in regard to litter - everything taken into the parks is taken out to preserve the local environment. We encourage all clients to use reusable water bottles and re-fill them from taps rather than throwing away plastic bottles. The maximum group size on this trip is restricted to 13 in order to reduce the environmental impacts of visiting remote areas.

Day 1

Depart London; arrive San Francisco.

Day 2

Sightseeing tour; drive through ?gold country? to Yosemite N.P.

Day
3 - 4

Visit giant sequoia trees; bicycle ride or take a dip in river (optional). Trail hike to waterfalls (Yosemite, Nevada and Vernal Falls) and rock formations (El Capitan and Cathedral Rocks).

Day 5

Cross the Sierra Nevada Mountains to the Great Basin Desert.

Day 6

To Zion N.P; desert trek to Virgin River Gorge.

Day 7

Today's optional activities include biking, horse riding, tubing, hiking to the Emerald Pools, Angels Landing or the Zion Narrows (weather permitting).

Day 8

Bryce Canyon and Kodachrome Basin State Park; walk the Navajo or Queen?s Garden Trail.

Day 9

Lake Powell; take a dip or try some water sports.

Day 10

Navajo guided backroads tour through Monument Valley.

Day
11 - 12

Grand Canyon N.P; soak up the grandeur on foot, or optional helicopter flight.

Day 13

To Las Vegas; evening depart.

Day 14

Arrive London.
