Discover the beautiful wilderness of Finnish Lapland on snowshoes, cross-country skis and snowmobiles. Our wilderness base located at the edge of the Oulanka National Park is a truly spectacular setting for this fun-filled winter holiday, designed to introduce you to some of the most popular Nordic activities. There is a chance to meet the indigenous Sami people of Finland, and take a trip on a traditional reindeer-pulled sleigh. A highlight of the week will certainly be time on the husky farm, playing with the puppies before heading out on a dogsled ride through forests and across frozen lakes. If you're lucky, and the night sky is clear, you might even catch a glimpse of the magical Northern Lights.

Itinerary

Day 1	Fly to Kuusamo; transfer to Basecamp Oulanka.
Day 2	Gentle half day snowshoe walk, exploring the N.P. Free use of snowshoes in the afternoon.
Day 3	Dogsledding instruction and tour of about 10km. Adults drive with children sitting in sleds.
Day 4	Visit reindeer farm and museum. Meet the Sami people and enjoy hot drinks around open fire. Take a ride on a reindeer sleigh.
Day 5	Free day in Ruka. Morning option of snowmobile safari including lunch by an open fire. Afternoon option of downhill skiing.
Day 6	Morning cross-country ski lesson. Free use of skis after lesson. Afternoon in children's snow park, sledging, building igloos and snowmen.
Day 7	Free day. Optional activities include ice climbing, frisbee park, further dogsledding or snowmobile tours.
Day 8	Transfer to Kuusamo and fly to London.
