Slovakia is a fantastic destination for a week of family fun, with a playground of mountains, rivers, gorges, castles, villages and caves.
Moving from the Low to the High Tatras, we start with a walk through the spectacular Janosik Canyon. Other active highlights include archery, rafting on the Orava River and some cycling by the beautiful Liptovsky Mara Lake. This region also has some fascinating natural gems such as the massive, eerily beautiful Demanovska Cave and the Dobsinska Ice Cave, full of frozen waterfalls, stalagmites and stalactites.
There is time too for soaking up the local culture as we visit the folk village of Vlkolinec and local farms where we can have lunch and sample some sheep's cheese. With visits to Spis Castle and Poprad's Aqua City there is enough variety to amuse everyone in the family.
