Mt Etna, one of the world's most active volcanoes Nature Reserves and Baroque towns Ceramic workshop and pasta-making demonstration

Sicily has to be one of the most fascinating islands in Europe. There is an incredibly diverse history, thanks to the influence of Phoenician, Greek, Roman, Arab, Normans and Spanish civilizations.
We spend the first part of the week in the Mt Etna area, where we explore the highest active volcano in Europe, paddle in the waters of the impressive Alcantara Gorge and visit the picturesque town of Taormina.
Our journey then takes us further south, as we venture into two natural reserves, where we discover many different species of birds and wildlife, including flamingos, as well as an ancient necropolis.
We also visit the renowned towns of Siracusa and Noto, listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and take part in craft workshops.
Of course no trip to Sicily is complete without trying the local delicacies and we have plenty of opportunities to sample its mouth-watering cuisine.
