The Dolomites in northeast Italy have long been famous for their impressive jagged peaks, with pinnacles of coloured rock, and picturesque towns and villages.
The scenic town of Dobbiaco (1200m) is an ideal base, allowing unrivalled access to the endless variety of winter activities available within these mountains. This pretty town is an interesting cultural mix of both Austrian and Italian traditions.
An excellent variety of downhill skiing is available at Versciaco and San Candido, or further afield at the Plan de Corones and Cortina d'Ampezzo ski areas. The region has an extensive selection of cross-country skiing routes for all abilities.
Winter walking routes explore the picturesque side valleys, as well as those at higher altitude, and snowshoeing is also possible. As an excursion, the famous 'ice-man' Oetzi can be visited in Bolzano or simply a day visit to Cortina D'Ampezzo, favourite resort among chic Italian downhill skiers.

The 'Waymark Experience' stamp points to our range of classic cross-country ski holidays that come from the Waymark stable, but are now operated by Exodus. Loyal Waymark clients will notice many tried and tested locations which are staffed by many of their favourite Waymark leaders.2 - 7
