Reality Check
This region of Italy is hilly in the south and mountainous in the north, and there will be some more sustained (albeit optional) climbing towards the end of the trip.
Most days will require a decent level of fitness - the pay-off for the climbing will be stunning views and an amazing sense of achievement, so hopefully a worthwhile trade-off. Distances per day vary from 50-80km per day.
Every morning you will be able to ride straight from the door of the hotel, but there may be short transfers used at the end of some afternoons. The support vehicle will always follow the group, so you can choose whether to ride all of the climbs on the trip. We aim to use quiet roads where possible, but sometimes we need to use short sections of slightly busier roads.
This trip is classified road and graded B/C.
Normal group size and age
Normally 8 to 15, plus UK cycle leader and driver. Minimum age 16.
Icons explained
The vast majority of Exodus adventures are adult group holidays. Groups are always small in size. We strongly believe that this adherence to small groups means a better experience for all; more time with your guide, less waiting around and a reduced impact on the communities and environments visited.
Each group is generally made up of like-minded travellers - with singles, couples and friends all joining in together.
All these trips are suitable for single travellers, but if you prefer to travel with clients booking individually, please
see our Solo Departures page.
In order to provide a more accurate cycle holiday grading system, where a cycling trip falls between two grades we use an intermediate or split grade, for example Moderate/Challenging. Clearly, conditions may differ from region-to-region or month-to-month and as such the information given on these pages is designed to act as a guide to your cycling holiday only. In all cases you should refer to the Trip Notes for further details.
Exodus is always looking to improve our current itineraries and to offer something different. With many new trips this year, there is something unique and different to try every year.
Cycling: Our cycling holidays come in all shapes and sizes; from gentle self-guided trips in the Veneto, to tackling the High Atlas in Morocco, or exploring the length of Vietnam.
