Reality Check
Please see the introductory pages of the Cycling Brochure for more important information on classification and grading.
This trip covers quite a range of different terrain and cycling conditions, from short easier days on good roads to a couple of steeper and longer climbs on poor quality roads. It should be within the reach of anyone who is a regular cyclist. There is no technical riding and all the roads are generally in reasonably good condition though there can be sections that are unpaved and pot-holed, more so after monsoon (July to September in this part of India).
The top of the Jalori Pass is also unpaved. The altitude should not present a problem during this trip. A good level of fitness is required if you wish to enjoy the full extent of this trip, some experience of longer climbs (similar to alpine climbs) would be useful. However, as the ride is 100% supported there is always the option to enjoy the scenery from the jeep.
Normal group size and age
Normally 4 to 16, plus leader and local guides. Minimum age 16.
Icons explained
The vast majority of Exodus adventures are adult group holidays. Groups are always small in size. We strongly believe that this adherence to small groups means a better experience for all; more time with your guide, less waiting around and a reduced impact on the communities and environments visited.
Each group is generally made up of like-minded travellers - with singles, couples and friends all joining in together.
All these trips are suitable for single travellers, but if you prefer to travel with clients booking individually, please
see our Solo Departures page.
For any ride at this level, fitness is important. C-grade trips require confidence in your own ability and physical condition. They are equivalent to an extended period of cycling at home. Previous mountain biking experience is preferable, but not essential, for C-grade off-road trips as they will involve some technical riding.
Cycling: Our cycling holidays come in all shapes and sizes; from gentle self-guided trips in the Veneto, to tackling the High Atlas in Morocco, or exploring the length of Vietnam.
Wilderness: Visit the deserts, jungles, plateaux, tundra and mountains of all seven continents, including Antarctica.
Culture: Let Exodus show you a different side to many of the world's greatest cultural attractions.
