I thank Mr Brown for his review and thoughts on our Cycling Southern India - Coast to Coast trip. Our Single Supplemet prices in India are often high against the total cost of the trip, this is due to the fact that Indian hotels give very little discount for single occupancy and that the accommodation element of any trip in India is a large proportion of the whole trip cost. What is not acceptable to us is when our clients who have paid for single rooms are given a lower standard room in comparison to other clients on the trip; this is something we are always looking to improve upon and make sure our leaders are aware of as hotels in this part of the world do have a habit of allocating rooms in this way. Rooms are also allocated depending on wether double or twin-bedded rooms are needed; as we have couples, singles and twin sharers on our trips this will also dictate who is allocated which rooms.
I have investigated this particular case in more detail and find that an improvement in our trip notes is required. Mr Brown is correct in saying that in one location there are two different buildings used depending on group size, and in another location there are two permanent african style safari tents with a roof covering - these are used sometimes when group size / availability necessitates. I will update the trip notes accordingly as soon as possible.
In regards to the food on this trip we believe that it offers a good balance and variety for people. We try and use as many local restaurants as possible, particularly for lunch stops, whilst still keeping clients in the best possible health.
This trip is a point to point ride, with very few transfers, and because of the many backroads we use leaving clients for too long to navigate themselves isn't possible - regroup points are therefore regular. However, we do want clients to have the chance to go at their own pace and one of our leaders, or the back-up vehicle, will always stay behind the last rider in order that you can enjoy the trip at your own pace as much as possible.
I thank Mr Brown for his positive comment about Shaker, the leader, and I feel that his skills, group management and expertise will quickly develop to make this trip even better.
