Atlas Descent:- Did exactly what it said on the tin! Absolutely loads of off-road descents. Beautiful scenery. Remote location. Great trip!

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Single track steep descent on the 4th day... warmed up and ready for it from previous days of riding... steeper than all other pistes. Hair raising - technical enough - exilerating and fun!
What did you think of your group leader?

Liz was a top guide. Tiny lass with big personality and the legs that jet from the gladiator would be proud of! Really enjoyed the routes and rides of this trip; lots of variation .. some of which Liz said she had discovered on her days off! An inspiration- loved her cycling trails and top fun lady.

Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
    Enjoy!
Is there anything else you would like to add?
If you have time, it would be well worth extending your time after the trips finish day and go to nearby Marakesh for a flip side of husstle and busstle of Morrocan life.

A very well organised and run holiday which made the most out of everyday and at times tested even the most experienced riders.  It is also a unique way of seeing Morocco as you get to ride through some very isolated but spectacular areas.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
there were many but the view from the gardens of the hotel overlooking the atlantic ocean was something I wont forget.
What did you think of your group leader?
Liz was the perfect guide for the job, friendly and very proactive.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
My advice for anyone thinking of doing this trip is to train for it by doing some long distances rides.   You'll enjoy it more and there are some pretty challenging and demanding ascents.  Of course there is always the option of hitching a lift in the support vehicle but thats cheating!
Is there anything else you would like to add?
    Do it! worth every penny.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Probably the buzz of getting to the beach on the last day with everybody completing a very enjoyable trip without any major mishap and feeling that we had accomplished some great riding over some really challenging terrain.
What did you think of your group leader?
    A+. Gold Star.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Get a reasonable level of fitness and offroad ability before you go. Just riding footpaths or fireroads back home may not be enough. You will enjoy the rides that bit more if you have some confidence in the corners and on very rocky surfaces. Get a rush by letting yourself go, but in as controlled way as possible, as nasty spills are possible. Learn how to fix your own punctures if you dont know already!!
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Research your flight options, but otherwise I think the trip offers great value for money and riding that cant be found in the UK. Cycling is a great way of seeing a country and avoiding the usual tourist traps, this trip certainly demonstrates that.

An excellent holiday.  A great mix of technical tracks, stunning views and chances to meet local people.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

Many memorable moments, including the evening stroll along the High Street at Tiznit, the High Atlas Views and some challenging rocky descents.

What did you think of your group leader?
Liz was very professional, hard working, friendly and helpful.  Everything we could have wanted in a group leader.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
I wish I had thought of taking a helmet cam!  Take some Euros.  The wind and evenings can be cool (In Feb) so take plenty of layers.
Is there anything else you would like to add?

I would have preferred shorter lunch and breaks allowing an earlier finish and a chance to look round.  However I know that would not have suited everyone.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
The people of morrocco very friendly and welcoming.Scenery in ther anti atlas mountains was stunning.Best of all was the amazing down hill runs and the routes taken across the mountains.
What did you think of your group leader?
What can i say about the trip leader except fantastic.Always had a smile on her face except at the top of the climbs when nobody was smiling, until the pain in your legs subsided.Despite having a total of over forty punctures for the week, there was never a grumble and liz just got on with job in hand.Every morning the bikes were checked over thoroughly, very reassuring considering the terrain we cycled over.Anyone who gets liz as a group leader will have a super holiday.Nuff said
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

Take warm, windproof layers for the early morning mountain top starts. We had three very cold starts and it takes maybe half an hour to get bikes set up for the day so you can be standing around for a while.

Overall a fantastic trip - but let down by a lot of waiting around for bike repairs.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
The riding was excellent - some of the descents were breathtaking and I found I was really pushing myself to new levels both in my riding skills and fitness.
What did you think of your group leader?
Liz - the leader worked tirelessly on keeping the bikes running and on making sure everything ran as smoothly as possible.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

Take your own bikes. Though with terrain like this I would expect mechanical failure the amount we had meant a significant amount of time waiting around for repairs. It was still a great trip - the riding was excellent the scenerary amazing and the extras good too. The accomodation was generally great - there were a couple of hotels that didn't have sufficient hot water for us (as of course we all came in and turned the showers on straight away) - for me though this wasn't a problem and I see this as part of the charm of a trip like this. Food was excellent.

Though there was very little singletrack - quite a bit of the riding is technical (rough!) - I wouldn't advise going on this trip if you have no previous mountain biking experience. Yes you can get in the support vehicle for these parts - but really then you'd be missing the essence of this trip. There is also quite a lot of pretty hard uphill.

Is there anything else you would like to add?
Exodus need to address the above problem with any one (or more) of the following: have the bikes thoroughly serviced before the trip (not during it), send along an additional mechanic and additional spare bikes/wheels/parts or simply just replace the bikes with new ones more often. Address this and the trip would get 5 stars.

    Exodus Response

I am sorry we could not arrange the new bikes to be sent out before Mr Corrigan's trip. Bikes are usually changed every 2 years but due to the rocky terrain in this area, the state of bikes appears to worsen more rapidly.

Please rest assured however that Exodus is currently changing all hire bikes in Morocco. This takes some time as only a few bikes can be sent on each departure. Our entirely new bike fleet will be in place by Christmas 2010.
