Average daily distance: 65km (40 miles) No. of days cycling: 7 Vehicle support: 90% during the warm up week, excluding the race day. Terrain and route: a classic road tour with relaxed rides and the opportunity for a few challenging climbs. Mainly good quality tarmac.
This trip uses main roads which can be busy, but the scenery from the route we take is wonderful. All of the roads used are of good quality tarmac except the occasional stretch of dirt road in the wine district and at Cape Agulhas.
We recommend using a strong, good quality Hybrid/MTB bicycle fitted with road/slick tyres. Cycle Safety You should be aware that cycling of all kinds has its dangers and that accidents can happen from time to time. Please ensure that you are properly prepared for the riding you are going to undertake.

Normal group size and age
Min. 6, max. 14 plus leader Minimum age 18.
The vast majority of Exodus adventures are adult group holidays. Groups are always small in size. We strongly believe that this adherence to small groups means a better experience for all; more time with your guide, less waiting around and a reduced impact on the communities and environments visited.
Each group is generally made up of like-minded travellers - with singles, couples and friends all joining in together. All these trips are suitable for single travellers, but if you prefer to travel with clients booking individually, please see our Solo Departures page.
For any ride at this level, fitness is important. C-grade trips require confidence in your own ability and physical condition. They are equivalent to an extended period of cycling at home. Previous mountain biking experience is preferable, but not essential, for C-grade off-road trips as they will involve some technical riding.
Exodus is always looking to improve our current itineraries and to offer something different. With many new trips this year, there is something unique and different to try every year.
Cycling: Our cycling holidays come in all shapes and sizes; from gentle self-guided trips in the Veneto, to tackling the High Atlas in Morocco, or exploring the length of Vietnam.
