Itinerary
Day 1
Fly to Venice; transfer to Villabassa.
Day 2
During the first 4 days of the trip we will ride some of the amazing network of trails which can be found in this region. This will include sections of the Dolomiti Superbike course itself, so that you can get in as much practice as possible and get a good feel for the challenge ahead! The location of these three rides won't be set until the precise race itinerary is finalised in Spring 2013, but the aim will be to give you wide ranging experience of the trails in the area and to work on all the skills that you are likely to need during the race itself.
The daily distances cycled will be approximately 60km
Day 4 - 5
Having spent the past four days out riding the trails and honing your skills and fitness, today will come as a welcome rest! We will use this day to do all the last minute checks on your bike and kit, complete the sign-on for the event and to take on-board sufficient fuel by going to the pre-race party.
Day 6
Today we make an early start and have a light breakfast before saddling up and taking our place with 4000 other competitors on the start line for the 2013 Dolomiti Superbike race. The race comprises two different distances, 60km (37 miles) or 110km (68 miles). The shorter route has around 2000m of climbing and the longer route has nearly 4000m of climbing, so both distances will be a challenge to your legs. Luckily the race is brilliantly organised, with the course well marked out, key junctions marshalled, police support, neutral service areas and mutilple feedzones during the race, all of which help the challenge feel more manageable. In the evening, once everyone is safely back to the hotel we'll have a celebratory last night dinner.
Day 7
Transfer to Venice; fly to London.
