8 days cycling with 70% vehicle support
80% on quiet tarmac roads, 20% cycle paths, gravel and coastal tracks
There are some undulating sections, but it is predominantly flat.
10 nights in 2 and 3 star hotels, all with ensuite facilities in good locations.
All breakfasts included.
Activity Level: 2 (Leisurely/moderate)
Average daily distance: 45km (28 miles)
Terrain and route: surface: 80% tarmac and 20% gravel tracks. Routes follow mainly quiet backroads, paths through the national parks and coastal cycle tracks. There are some undulating sections, but the distances are not challenging and much of the riding is flat. As we are covering a large area there are bus transfers on most of the cycling days, this enables us to cover the distances and see all the highlights and use the bikes to cover the best bits. This does mean at the beginning and end of each ride the bikes need to be unloaded and loaded onto the trailer, this usually takes around 30min, but this gives you the chance to get ready or change out of your kit, get a snack or even take a look at something locally.
Please note that before reaching the cities the leader will give you information on their history and places of interest and will guide you into town, however, they are not allowed to give you a guided tour of the city once you are there due to restrictions of tour leaders, only official city guides are allowed to do this. You will have the choice of wandering around the cities at your own pace, or you can pay locally for a guide. We will leave this up to you.
Normal group size and age
Normally 6 to 16 plus leader. Minimum age 16.
The vast majority of Exodus adventures are adult group holidays. Groups are always small in size. We strongly believe that this adherence to small groups means a better experience for all; more time with your guide, less waiting around and a reduced impact on the communities and environments visited.
Each group is generally made up of like-minded travellers - with singles, couples and friends all joining in together. All these trips are suitable for single travellers, but if you prefer to travel with clients booking individually, please see our Solo Departures page.
In order to provide a more accurate cycle holiday grading system, where a cycling trip falls between two grades we use an intermediate or split grade, for example Leisurely/Moderate. Clearly, conditions may differ from region-to-region or month-to-month and as such the information given on these pages is designed to act as a guide to your cycling holiday only. In all cases you should refer to the Trip Notes for further details.
