The Croatia Cycling tour is an excellent way to enjoy the Croatia coast and get off the beaten track and enjoy the local food. I would highly recommend this trip if you are after an active holiday and enjoy seeing the world by bike.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
There were a number of substantial hill climbs that were very tough at times. The inspirational moments were when I would look around rather than focussing on the road and I was greeted by the amazing Croatian coast line.
What did you think of your group leader?
Our Group Leader Kristo was excellent. I'd like to nominate him for a leader of the year. Krsto was very relaxed, he would tell us when and where we needed to be, where we were riding for the day so we all understood. My only feedback would be to come down on people a bit harder when they were late. Krsto seemed well known everywhere we went and so we were always looked after. The effort Krsto put into the trip really made the trip for us
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
The trip is rated moderate, however there are some tough days with challenging hill climbs, do not go on this tour if you are not a regular rider. I loved it because I love riding and I loved the hills as they were a challenge for me and I knew I had earnt my drink at the end of the day. That said there are options to take the bus if you don't think you have the fitness so that is a good option available to all riders. The days are quite long, riding by 9, back at the hotel by 6 or a bit before out to dinner by 730/8 pm. The dinners are a wonderful opportunity to taste the local food, most places had fresh fish in everyday which was wonderful. Dinners did go for a long time and we'd usually leave by 1030/11 pm. There isn't that much time to do your own thing, it really is a group environment, but that did make the trip enjoyable as you got to meet new people and get to know them. If you are after an active tour and want to see the sights of the Croatian coast then this is an excellent tour.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
The tour involves long days, so it's not the tour for you if you want to relax everyday. The food was wonderful and a highlight of the trip for me. Everywhere we ate was excellent, a great example of fresh local food. The accommodation was fine, the only hotel that wasn't consistent with standard was dubrvnik. That said I'm not fussy about accommodation as we don't spend much time there so as long as I've got a bed and shower I'm fine.

A thoroughly enjoyable holiday.  Kudos goes to a very engaging and professional guide, a great group and lovely food, but the real star was Croatia itself; gorgeous scenery around every corner, beautiful green sea, scented with herbs and flowers and, especially on the islands, a very friendly people.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Probably climbing the steepest hills and letting go for a gloriously fast descent.
What did you think of your group leader?
Bojan was very good indeed.  He challenged the fastest, supported the slowbies and found lovely restaurants for every meal.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

A little cycling practice won't go amiss - some of the hills are steep, but by no means long or difficult, and it's useful to know how gears work, when to change gear, what to do when it's rocky or to have a little bit of confidence in your ability to ride for a few hours.  oh, and padded cycling shorts are a good idea.

Also, our bikes were very exactly sized - to the inch rather than 'small/medium/large' - so tell them your correct height or you may get a bike that's slightly too small!

Is there anything else you would like to add?
I would have enjoyed a little more time to explore the history or wander round the local towns - but I did appreciate staying in a hotel for more than just one night.  Not having to unpack and pack every evening gives us so much more time.   Otherwise, I'd have loved to do just a little more cycling..

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
It was great to see everyone make it to the top of the hill on day two. And the decent wasn't bad either.
What did you think of your group leader?
Ana was exceptional! She was organized, accommodating, and fun. She went out of her way to make sure the needs of everyone in the group were met and that everyone was enjoying themselves.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
While the trip is graded "moderate," there definitely were some difficult hills. I recommend doing some hilly training rides if you're not a regular cyclist.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
While I thoroughly enjoyed my time on trip, some of the accommodation was a little disappointing considering the cost of the holiday.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
    The cycling
What did you think of your group leader?
Excellent. Highly organised- so no waiting around . Very safety conscious.  Extreemely caring
Is there anything else you would like to add?

I thought it was a very expensive trip for what it was and what it included. I chose single supplement which was £150 ish but when my fellow travellers asked for a single room they had to pay a £10 for the night.

I took the decision to go with Exodus so knew the price for this trip was high- and I know there are bikes, a van and a tour guide. But hotels are reasonable priced so I don't know why it was quite so high.  I have been on several holidays with explore ( Cuba/ india/Spain- and Exodus, on this trip- for this time of year is very expensive

I did have a nice time though.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

Having dinner in a wonderful family restuarant, the food, the warmth was beyond real.

Just gliding down the mountains and stopping off to amire the wonderful veiws and the natural flora of the spring time.

Being able to seep into  of the historical past, and it's history and architecture of not just Dubrovnic, but

the entire Dal-m coast. Our tour guide in Dubrov was very articulate, putting in a good word for her too.

The walk along the walls were amazing with my two new friends from Cumbria.

Thank you Exodus...what's my next trip?

What did you think of your group leader?
Kristo was a wonderful guide, very helpful, especially as I was lagging a bit, he was at my side to to add a bit of needed energy. Such an open loyal, considerate and knowlegeable..the best guide ever. Not to mention the wonderful energy snaks he managed to source.....thank you for him!
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
JUST DO IT...a truly unforgetable land, the food, the local folks is quite something of a pearl as is Croacia.
Is there anything else you would like to add?

Maybe, the mountain bikes can be improved upon as I found them rather heavy going, as we were not off road much, but were great on the dirt tracks and cycling in the vinyards.

The reason I went on this vacation was because I originally did a Google search for a different type of holiday without single supplements, also a short flight to a country I had not been to before & an adventure type holiday at the end of April.I had been told that Croatia was nice,in fact now I have been I am stunned how beautiful Croatia really is & in the future will go back again. This vacation ticked all the right boxes for me.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
There is just so much on this vacation to inspire one, there is just too much to list but cycling along tracks & quiet roads in open country side through olive groves is a truly lovely experience.Cycling from Dingac along the coast was just so scenic. It was a nice touch being taken to small villages off the beaten track to enjoy meals prepared by the local people who are just so pleasant. The other 5 people I met up with on this holiday were a lovely crowd which put the iceing on the cake.
What did you think of your group leader?
Bojan our tour leader was not only just a wonderful guide he was a friend. He looked after everybody every step of the way & was concerned for everybodies welfare. He has great communication skills  & was just so nice to have around,he recommended places to eat & really enjoyed socialising with all us holiday clients.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
The only advice I would say to anybody going on this type of vacation is that although you don,t need to be an olympian athlete, you do need a good level of fitness to benefit & fully enjoy this holiday.I found in April the temperature can range from chilly to quite warm & there is more of a risk of rain off season. I was fortunate that it never rained at any time when I was cycling.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
I originally was a bit apprenhensive about going on a cycling holiday but having now been cycling on The Dalmation coast all I would say to anybody thinking of doing this holiday is as Nike says "Just Do It",you won,t regret it.It has been a truly positive experience,Croatia is a beautiful scenic country with great infrastuture.I don,t know why I have not been before. This has been my first Exodus holiday & after this experience I will be looking through the Exodus brochures for another future adventure.
