What a fantastic trip. Our guide Patrick was very friendly, knowledgeable, passionate about his country and had a wicked sense of humour. He was so good in fact that we are looking forward to our next trip with him.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

There was so many moments that were unforgettable it is hard to pick one thing. Seeing the Chateaus, vineyards, buildings, rivers etc were breathtaking. The most memorable moments were sharing the trip with some fantastic riders from other countries. The most inspirational however was our fellow rider who is 70 years young.....I hope I am still cycling at that age.....he is my hero.

Blois was a great introduction to the hills and a French town, Amboise was  magnificent, very beautiful. Chinon was outstanding, lots of history, many tales of Joan of Arc. Talking to locals was a real highlight of the trip. One vineyard owner went into great details about pruning his vines. The tulips, daffodils and irises every where were magnificent, we do not have such floral displays in Western Australia.

What did you think of your group leader?

Patrick was absolutely fantastic. He was so passionate about the history of France that it made it even more enjoyable. He had a wicked sense of humour and made even the harder hills fun to conquer.

We are looking forward to another trip with him in 2014.

Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

Make sure you take clothing for all types of weather conditions. One day you get sunburnt, the next day you freeze. This is apparently typical of French weather.

Is there anything else you would like to add?
I would recommend this trip with Exodus to anyone. We are looking forward to many more trips with them.
