Throughout this tour we use comfortable, 3-star hotels with en suite facilities and air conditioning. Accommodation in Petra is limited and demands on the infrastructure are high; this creates occasional problems with hot water and general plumbing for all the hotels in the area. The hotel we use here is the most basic 3-star used throughout the itinerary, however it is an excellent location and offers a warm welcome. We will spend one night in the Dana Guest House, which is more basic accommodation with shared bathrooms, but the location is spectacular and you will receive a very warm welcome. One night will be spent in the Wadi Rum desert. Our private camp will be for the use of your group only and set in a stunning, remote location it will offer an experience you will not forget. Traditional style tents are divided up and there are 2 basic beds in each compartments. The beds are equipped with sheets and blankets are provided on arrival. It is strongly recommended that you take a sleeping bag liner for the summer departures and a good 3/4 season sleeping bag for the November through to March departures. There are two plumbed toilets and a shower but please be aware that running water can be limited.
All breakfasts, 1 lunch and 1 dinner included.
Normal group size and age
Normally 5 to 16, plus local leader. Minimum age 16.
The vast majority of Exodus adventures are adult group holidays. Groups are always small in size. We strongly believe that this adherence to small groups means a better experience for all; more time with your guide, less waiting around and a reduced impact on the communities and environments visited.
Each group is generally made up of like-minded travellers - with singles, couples and friends all joining in together. All these trips are suitable for single travellers, but if you prefer to travel with clients booking individually, please see our Solo Departures page.
In order to provide a more accurate cycle holiday grading system, where a cycling trip falls between two grades we use an intermediate or split grade, for example Moderate/Challenging. Clearly, conditions may differ from region-to-region or month-to-month and as such the information given on these pages is designed to act as a guide to your cycling holiday only. In all cases you should refer to the Trip Notes for further details.
Exodus is always looking to improve our current itineraries and to offer something different. With many new trips this year, there is something unique and different to try every year.
