Fantastic combination of some great off road cycling and safari.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Getting up early one morning and finding ourselves alone in the Serengeti surrounded by a pride of lions.
What did you think of your group leader?

Julius was everything you need from a guide - knowledgable, professional, courteous and entertaining.  The whole team were great.

Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

The cycling is great but can be tough on some days, especially if you're not used to riding off road.

Is there anything else you would like to add?
Be prepared to rough it for a few days, some of the campsites were quite basic but all had at least a [cold] shower!

Fantastic holiday that allows you to enjoy the thrill of exploring  off the beaten track in a beautiful and awe inspiring country whilst alos allowing you to get up close and personal with the "big five".

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

Turning a corner in the Ngorngorno campsite to find ourselves standing less than 20ft from a feeding elephant - huge and serene it carried on eating but with a quick glance and a flap of its ears made sure we knew exactly where we stood (stock still and with jaws agape!).

The joy with which children ran from seemingly miles around to wave at the passing group of puffing, panting and exahusted western cyclists - they always had a smile, a wave and friendly greeting.  Stop for more than five minutes even in what seemed the most isolated spots and a small group of local tribepeople and excitable children would soon appear.

What did you think of your group leader?

Julius, the group leader, and Juma the bike mechanic who also accompanied us on all our rides, were excellent company, good cyclists and highly informative and took real care of all the group whatever there abilities.

The team that worked in the background - the camp chef, his helpers and all those who helped set up the campsite and transport tents and baggage from place to place were all pleasant and helpful and added imeasureably to the joy of the holiday.

Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

Remember cycling in Tanzania is extremely hot and very high factor suncream is required - you can't buy it out threre so make sure you have good supplies (a number of us had to ride in long sleeves after the first couple of days as the sun proved so intense).

The distances cycled were often well inexcess of those cycled back home (45km was considered an easy day!) so make sure your're fit before you go and can cope with cycling long distances in high temperatures and make sure you take a hydration system as its amazing how much water you'll drink.

Is there anything else you would like to add?
A great, well organised, holiday and a way to explore a fantastic country whilst seeing areas not usually well travelled by western tourist.
