Itinerary
Day 1
Start Port Stanley, Falkland Islands.
Day 2 - 3
At sea sailing towards South Georgia.
Day 4 - 12
Georgia has been on our minds for many years but to operate an expedition solely to this prolific island has proved difficult due to its inaccessibility. That has changed and Exodus has boldly chartered a direct flight with a short re-fuel in Cape Verde, straight into the Falklands; saving time, money and stress.
This leaves a two week itinerary with a full week in South Georgia and probably at least one decent landing in the Falklands. For many South Georgia is the best wildlife spectacle anywhere, a view re-enforced by the recent Frozen Planet series; this gives a comprehensive look at this remarkable, historic yet remote polar paradise.
The only complaint we have ever had in the past is that there is never enough time among the steepling mountain ranges, the tumbling glaciers and millions of penguins. Well, no longer. This promises to be a phenomenal journey led by photographer Paul Goldstein and TV zoologist and journalist Mark Carwardine on the fabled decks of the Vavilov. Any wilderness fan or photographer would be crazy to miss this.
Day 13 - 14
At sea sailing towards the Falkland Islands.
Day 15
Disembark and end in Port Stanley.
