Itinerary
Day 1
We transfer to our hotel, with views up to the highest peak in the national park.
Day 2
Canyoning: Usually in the Rubo Gorge. In the course of our 2 to 3 hour descent there are 6 abseils (18 metres. max), 2 optional jumps into deep pools and 2 water slides! Duration: 5-6 hours.
Requirements: Participants must be able to swim.
Day 3
Caving: At La Cueva de Llonin. The cave requires a small amount of crawling and climbing. Duration: 2½ hours including transport.
Day 4
Rock-climbing: Easy rock-climbing session on the outskirts of Arenas. Designed for those with no experience. All routes are top-roped for maximum safety. After initial instruction we will climb in groups of three. Those with experience, or more confidence, can try more testing routes, available in the same location. Duration: 5 hours.
Day 5
A simple hike up and down the dramatic Cares gorge. The bottom of the gorge is not far from our hotel, and we walk up the spectacular chasm as far as we wish before turning back. In places the wide trail is cut into a steep cliff-face. Duration: 3-6 hours, depending on how far you choose to walk.
Day 6
Mostly on easy dirt tracks or quiet tarmac roads, we ride through the scenic foothills of the Picos. Bike, helmet and route description provided. Duration: 2-5 hours, depending on how far you choose to ride.
Day 7
Canoeing: A fun day out canoeing in open boats down the river Sella; covering about 15 kms in total, the route includes some easy class I rapids. Lunch included. Duration: 5-6 hours including transport.
Requirements: Must be able to swim.
Day 8
End Arenas de Cabrales. Transfer to Bilbao.
