Day 1

Fly to Reykjavik; transfer to city centre via Blue Lagoon thermal complex.

Day 2

North to extinct volcanic crater of Eldborg; continue to remote and mountainous Snaefellsnes Peninsula.

Day 3

Full day to explore the national park including Snaefellsjokul icecap; fishing villages, old lava flows and abundant bird life.

Day 4

To Eiriksstadir, reconstructed Viking house of Erik the Red. Visit to Thingvellir National Park, lava cave and on to Laugavatn, stopping at the lake.

Day 5

On to the world famous geysers

Day 6

A day on the Solheimajokull glacier.

Day 7

Free day in Reykjavik, with options for whale-watching, sea kayaking, horse riding and lava-tube caving.

Day 8

Free morning; fly to London.
