The classic ascent of South America's toughest trekking peak

Aconcagua Camp 3, 5950m

Aconcagua, at 6962m, is the highest peak in the world outside the Himalaya. While the climb is not technically difficult, the altitude, extremes of temperature and sometimes high winds require a high level of fitness, concentration and stamina.

Our initial trek up the Horcones Valley takes us to base camp (4350m) for several acclimatisation hikes, training excursions and equipment carrying days before our attempt on the summit via a high altitude camp (5930m).

The rewards for our determination are stunning Andean views and the possibility of standing on the roof of the Americas.

Adventure Pioneers - This trip gets our vote!

Adventure PioneersEach year we run a competition that challenges you to design a trip for our Adventure Pioneers range. Out of the entries received we choose the most inspiring, sustainable and appealing to launch as an Exodus trip. They are pioneering. They are different. They are the very best of Exodus Travels. This trip breaks the mould and extends the boundaries of adventure travel.

Aconcagua permit - now included in the Holiday price

We now include the Aconcagua Permit Fees within the price of the holiday, and not as a separate fee as indicated in our 2012-13 published brochures. This change makes it easier for you to understand the total cost for the holiday you are considering.
